South Russian artists in the House Bukovets

More than a century ago, the House Bukovets hospitably opened its doors to the creative intelligentsia of Odessa. Now, thanks to the enthusiasm of its new owners, again you can take in the sights of the interior, recreated in the spirit of one of the cultural centers of pre-revolutionary city. Inserted the space of the house provided for the exposition of works of the best artists of Odessa in late XIX – early XX century.

The main purpose of the exhibition of works from private collections – to revive the traditions of the house to the Prince, 27, and recall that the southern Russian school have laid down a solid Foundation in the artistic life and the history of the development of fine art. The exhibition includes not only paintings themselves South Russian artists, but also the most close follower of the traditions of the Odessa picturesque school – Kiriak Kostandi, Yefim Ladyzhensky, Pyotr Nilus, Titus Dvornikov, Alexander Stilianudi, Yevhen Bukovetsky, Gerasimos Golovkova, Vladimir Sause, Boris Agiza and their followers.

The exhibition presents archive documents, personal belongings, photographs, printed publications, catalogues, paintings and drawings of the members and exhibitors of the society of South Russian artists, members of the Society. Kostandi, and their successors, continuing the traditions of southern Russian impressionism.
