The German expressionist Emil Nolde was a prolific artist and printmaker. Retrospective at the National gallery of Ireland organized with the support of the Scottish national gallery of modern art is bold and colorful overview of his paintings, drawings, engravings and FORTS.
The exhibition includes scenes of their Berlin cafe, views of the river Elbe, brilliant sketches made during his travels in the South seas, as well as portraits, still lifes and figurative images of fantastic creatures, made both oil and watercolour.
This exhibition for the first time in half a century demonstrates the work of this important artist in Ireland. All work provided by the Nolde Foundation in Germany.
