Frida Kahlo

Exhibition February 1 − June 3, 2018
Frida Kahlo continues to intrigue even after 110 years after his birth. To this date the Museum of cultures of Milan organized the largest European exhibition ever dedicated to the most famous Mexican artist. The exhibition includes oil paintings, drawings, watercolors, photographs and letters. Many works never before appeared in Italy.

A retrospective reveals the many secrets that still envelops the figure of Frida Kahlo. On it was written a lot of books, but the curators in Milan through paintings and documents show the political activity of the artist, the influence of Diego Rivera on her creativity and the desire to avoid it, her interest in drawing and, above all, her talent as an artist. Expressing themselves in their paintings, she was extremely witty and ironic, and still lifes filled with sensuality like no other.

"We care not only about the quantity. In addition, paintings and other works in the exhibition are selected according to analytical criteria. The focus of this exposition is that its content is different from what was organized around Frida Kahlo in the past"– said on the website of the Museum.
