Exhibition October 11, 2017 − March 5, 2018
"To be modern. MoMA in Paris" is an exclusive exhibition created with the collaboration of the Foundation Louis Vuitton and the new York Museum of modern art (MoMA). The exhibition shows how major and minor movements since the early years of modernism to contemporary works. Among the genres and styles including abstract expressionism, minimalism, pop art, FLUXUS and digital art.

The exhibition includes 200 diverse works, including such "stars" like Max Beckmann, Alexander Calder, Marcel Duchamp, Jasper Johns, Gustav Klimt, Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Edward Hopper, Frank Stella and Willem de Kooning. Among the works shown for the first time in France, "Bird in space" by Constantin Brancusi, and "Patchwork quilt" of Romare Birden.

Visitors can also view a selection of rarely exhibited documentary materials from the archives of MoMA, linking some of the work with the conditions in which they were created.
