Exhibition October 2, 2020 − February 28, 2021
National Museums of Liverpool and Lady Lever Art Gallery, Liverpool present exhibition "Expressionist Prints of the German Revolution".

This monumental exhibition of radical and varied works features engravings by the most influential artists of the 20th century, including Picasso, Kollwitz, Munch, Schiele and Beckmann, who examine the very different reactions of artists to the anarchy and violence of the civil war.

Don't miss the chance to see such works by Käthe Kollwitz, Carmagnoles in 1901 and Helft Russland (Help Russia) in 1921; Edvard Munch "In the Human Brain", 1897; "Adam and Eve" by Max Beckmann in 1917 and "A Modest Meal" by Pablo Picasso in 1904. The exhibition explores how the social, political, sexual and moral struggles that took place during the turbulent period of the German Revolution (1918-1919) prompted artists to create such powerful and dramatic images.
