From Roerich to Kandinsky. The return of masterpieces

The State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan is holding an exhibition in the halls of the Gallery of Contemporary Art “From Roerich to Kandinsky. Return of masterpieces ".

Visitors will see more than 50 masterpieces of Art Nouveau and avant-garde from the collection of the State Museum of Fine Arts of Tatarstan - an updated and supplemented exposition, triumphantly exhibited at the Tretyakov Gallery and aroused great interest among the general public.

The collection of art of the Art Nouveau and avant-garde epoch in the Kazan Museum began to form precisely in 1920, in the year of the formation of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. Today it is one of the most famous and complete collections of early 20th century art in the country. It includes the names of world famous artists - V. Kandinsky, A. Rodchenko, V. Stepanova, N. Roerich, M. Larionov, N. Goncharova, D. Burliuk, I. Mashkov, P. Konchalovsky, A. Kuprin, A. Lentulov, R. Falk and others. The collection reflects almost all stages in the development of Russian Art Nouveau and the avant-garde, starting with the work of its forerunners M.A.Vrubel and V.E.Borisov-Musatov, to the latest trends in European and Russian art - symbolism, cubism, futurism, primitivism, abstractionism, etc. ...
