Arkhip Kuindzhi. Fourth full moon

Omsk Regional Museum of Fine Arts named after M.A.Vrubel holds an exhibition “Arkhip Kuindzhi. Fourth full moon ".

The central exhibit is the work of an outstanding painter, master of landscape painting, teacher and major benefactor Arkhip Ivanovich Kuindzhi (1842-1910) "Night on the Dnieper" (1880s. Oil on paper on canvas. 54 x 72) from the collection of the Museum named after M. A Vrubel. For the first time in the history of the museum, a painting is exhibited simultaneously from two sides: the viewer is given the opportunity to see the other side of the master's work. The famous canvas of the famous painter was very popular, and the master created five author's variable repetitions. In the collection of the Omsk Museum - the fourth out of five. Hence the "fourth full moon" in the title of the exhibition.

The exhibition also displays works by students of Arkhip Kuindzhi and members of the Society named after him: Arkady Rylov, Nicholas Roerich, Konstantin Bogaevsky, Konstantin Kryzhitsky, etc. - over 20 paintings and graphic works. For the first time will be presented the magnificent illustrated book "Kuindzhi", published in 1913, dedicated to the fate and work of the outstanding landscape painter.
