Exhibition June 1, 2020 − January 3, 2021
Prinsenhof Museum presents a unique exhibition"Silver. Masterpieces of the Delft Masters 1590 - 1800 ".

Visitors will be able to see more than 80 masterpieces of silversmiths - the best of the works that were created in Delft during the period under review.

The art of silver was valued at the end of the 17th century higher than even painting, and the works of Delft masters were available exclusively to the European nobility. Absolute masterpieces were made in Delft from the end of the 16th to the middle of the 17th century. Great artisans such as Father and Son Nicolaes and Adrian de Grebber created fantastic drinking glasses, nautilus cups and tableware for the elite. Silver marks major events in life, provides insight into social interaction and connects generations to the present day.
