National Gallery of Art, Washington hosts exhibition"True Nature: European Open Air Painting 1780-1870".

The exhibition will present to the audience the oil works of the best painters of the 18th-19th centuries, including Jean Baptiste Camille Corot, John Constable, Simon Denis, Jules Coyne, André Giroud and many others.

Professionals from painting, they made difficult and dangerous journeys to see and capture breathtaking landscapes with their own eyes, from the coast of the Baltic and the Swiss Alps to the ruins of Rome. Painting in nature, in the open air was an integral part of art education in Europe in the 18th-19th centuries.
