Anna Anker

Exhibition June 13 − October 18, 2020
Anna Anker was born in Skagen in 1859. In childhood and adolescence, the Skagen artists appeared in the colony of artists, who grew and developed in parallel with it. Anna Anker received her first education in the field of fine art from the members of the colony of artists, but she freed herself early and found her own, radical expression, which is unique in its treatment of color, light and space in both Danish and European art history.

In several main topicsExhibitioncovers both the artistic perception of Anna Anker, and the motives that flow in the work of all life.

During the exhibition, you can also visit the house of Anna Anker, the historical residence of artists Ancher's House, which was the basis of her life and work during the period 1884-1935.
