George IV: art and collection

George IV is perhaps the greatest of the British monarchs, who formed an unrivaled collection of works of art, most of which remain in the Royal collection.

Being the prince of Wales, and since 1820 - the king, he acquired large quantities of paintings, metal products, textiles, furniture, watercolors, books and ceramics, many of which were created by the best artists of that time.

Combining Dutch and Flemish masterpieces, magnificent portraits of Sir Thomas Lawrence and Sir Joshua Reynolds, sophisticated French porcelain, intricate jeweler works and exquisite books and drawings, thisExhibitionwill present the life of George IV through art that enriched his world.
