Another dimension. Death and the Afterlife in Christian Art

The Central Museum of Old Russian Culture and Art named after Andrei Rublev holds an exhibition"Another dimension. Death and the Afterlife in Christian Art ”.

The exhibition includes about 100 works, reflecting ideas about preparation for the inevitable demise, as well as visualizing the moment of death.

The images of the outcome of the soul, its separation from the body and the transition to another world, monuments depicting death - Russian icons, Western European engravings, manuscript books - were first collected in one space, showing how the main theme of Christian art was embodied in different forms and plots - Resurrection and gaining eternal life.
