Portal 11 Gallery presents the Immersion exhibition of Elena Shtepura's painting.
Elena Shtepura was born in 1994 in the city of Nizhyn, Chernihiv region.
From 2008 to 2012 - studied at the Republican Art School. T. Shevchenko in Kiev.
2012-2016 - She studied at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, the Department of Scenography (workshop Burlin A.A.). 2016-2018 - studied at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, the faculty of painting (workshop of M. Guyda).
Elena Shtepura's exhibition project “Immersion” allows you to look at water as a structure that transforms. Water is a mirror of reality, but also its filter. It reflects only selective fragments, forming a unique pattern of being. The melody of the water is constantly different, it can be calm like glass, or blink, be noisy destructive or have a smooth uniform pattern. It combines two realities into a perfect composition. The body seems to fragment when it is in the water. Thus, showing that you are part of the world, and the world is in you. The subtlety and lyricism of the episodes is depicted using female images.
What happens when we engage in dialogue with water? To which world do we belong, do we look in reflection and see ourselves as real or otherworldly? Or are we not afraid of ourselves of the one we see? But are we not afraid to take a step in ourselves?
