Another Golden Age. Johan Ludwig Lund: Across All Borders

Many artists were forgotten, and Danish Golden Age artist Johan Ludwig Lund (1777–1867) is one of them. As a professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, he and C.W. Eckersberg trained a generation of Danish artists whom we now know as Golden Age artists. While Eckersberg became the “father of Danish painting”, few have heard of Lund now, although he was equally important at the time as a teacher and as an artist.
