Heroes of Haarlem. Other masters

Exhibition March 8, 2019 − July 1, 2022
The Frans Hals Museum is named after the most famous artist from Haarlem. But a museum is more than just France Hals.

Exhibition "Heroes of Haarlem“includes the works of a large number of“ other masters ”of the 16th and 17th centuries from the museum’s permanent collection. The exhibition consists of paintings by Hendrick Goltzius, Karel van Mander, Jan Porsellis, Salomon van Reisdal, Nicholas Berham and many others.

The museum adds contemporary accents, including works by Tracy Emin, Celine van Balen, Barbara Visser and Guido van der Verve.

Establishing a transistoric relationship between contemporary works and collections of old masters, the museum challenges its audience.
