Dashing 90s. Freedom Without Borders

Exhibition December 17, 2019 − March 1, 2020
The Museum of Art of St. Petersburg of the XX – XXI centuries presents a large-scale exhibition“Dashing 90s. Freedom Without Borders ”.

The exposition of the blockbuster exhibition contains more than 150 works from 100 Russian artists of different generations.

The art of the 90s of the last century was distinguished by its Babylonian diversity. All sorts of artistic escapades quickly bursting into the cultural environment took first place there, challenging traditional art. The boundaries of the cultural space have expanded. It is with such a variety of ideas and styles that the artistic life of this period will be revealed to the audience. The works of Vladislav Mamyshev Monroe, Vasily Komar and Alexander Melamid, Mikhail Roginsky, Viktor Pivovarov, Igor Makarevich, Timur Novikov, Bella Matveeva, Olga Tobreluts, Marina Koldobskaya, Gipper-Pupper and many others recall the picture of aesthetic freedom and absurdity of those years.
