The Tomi Ohtake Institute in São Paulo presents a review exhibition by Japanese artist Takashi Murakami
Murakami Murakami". The exhibition includes 35 paintings that demonstrate intriguing paradoxes embodied in a variety of works by the master - from his large-scale post-apocalyptic works to contemplative paintings depicting Buddhist visions.
“From the early hand-drawn DOB sketches to the many computer drawings and ready-made works on canvas, we see a metamorphosis and expansion of images influenced by Murakami’s interest in the biology, botany and insect world, as well as his fascination with magic,” notes exhibition curator Gunnar B. Quaran.
