Monet: Places

Exhibition February 22 − June 1, 2020
For his landscape paintings, Claude Monet visited the same places again and again and performed an extensive series of works from the same place. During his travels, he created many paintings on the coast of Normandy, in Zandam in the Netherlands, in London and Venice. He was not interested in picturesque sights, but in the changing conditions of lighting and weather, as well as the various effects that they had on these particular places.

He enjoyed motifs such as the parks, gardens, and water lilies that surrounded him.

Exhibition "Monet: Places"organized in collaboration with the Denver Museum of Art.
