Exhibition October 17, 2019 − February 29, 2020
Gerhard ter Borch (1617–1681) is considered one of the most significant genre artists of Dutch Golden Age painting.

There are two surviving, almost identical versions of his iconic masterpiece, Father's Instruction. One version is in the collection of the Berlin Art Gallery, and the other is in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.

At the exhibition "Gerard Ter Borch: Paternal Instruction. A masterpiece and its virtuoso variations"for the first time in more than 350 years, both paintings will be exhibited side by side - complemented by repetitions of motifs, partial copies and imitations.
