Robin O'Neill: We, the masses

Exhibition October 18, 2019 − February 9, 2020
Exhibition "We masses"explores the fruitful career of the artist Robin O'Neill from 2000 to the present and includes drawings, author's graphite work on paper, collages and an animated film. This exhibition is the first to examine O'Neill's formal and conceptual work over the past two decades.

O'Neill created complex, imaginary worlds exploring the themes of evolution, natural disasters, the apocalypse and the beauty of nature. She is best known for her large-scale works filled with tiny male figures located in harsh landscapes depicting relevant aspects of a person’s condition, such as friendship, contention, and death. Inspired by the history of art, popular culture, literature and the weather, O'Neill's worlds are serious, gentle, intimidating, and sometimes comical.
