Nathaniel Hon. Landscape Travel

ThisExhibitiondevoted to one of the most significant figures in the history of Irish art of the XIX century: Nathaniel Hon (1831-1917).

At the exhibition, special attention will be paid to Hon's travels, which were extensive and varied. Visitors will be able to follow Hon's trips from France to Egypt and see the evolution of his style from one country to another.

The exhibition also marks the 100th anniversary of the Hone Bequest: the largest donation to the National Gallery of Ireland. Consisting of more than 500 works, the gift was made to the Gallery by the wife of Hon Magdalene two years after his death.
