Lee Krasner. Retrospective

Exhibition October 11, 2019 − January 12, 2020
Exhibition "Lee Krasner. Retrospective"tells the story of one of the most dedicated American artists of the 20th century.

All the works of the artist Lee Krasner are exhibited, including self-portraits, strictly geometric “Small Images” and stunning paintings from her series “Prophecy”, as well as experimental works from her series “Umber” and “Initial”.

Krasner's work has long remained in the shadow of the work of her husband Jackson Pollock. After his untimely death in a car accident in 1956, she decided to use Pollock's studio, and this marked the beginning of a new phase in her career.

For the first time, she was able to work on large, unstretched canvases, creating some of her most important works, such as The Guardian, The Happy Lady, The Fight, and The Siren.
