Zoe Beloff: Emotions go to work

Exhibition January 23 − March 29, 2020
The interactive multimedia installation, “Zoe Beloff: Emotions Go to Work,” explores how technology is used to turn our senses into “valuable assets.” The project is a study of the “technological dream life” and our creative and imaginary relationships with machines - how we create them in our image, shape them to serve our desires, and how they, in turn, redraw us.

Beloff is an artist and director who lives and works in New York. Her projects often include a wide range of media, including films, drawings, and archival documents. Throughout her thirty-year career, her interests included psychoanalysis, mediums, and psychiatric institutions; new forms of community; anti-fascist art and activism; and, more recently, the history of the relationship between work, technology, and our emotional lives.
