Anita Shapolskaya Gallery presents the project "Inspiration and Research". This is a group exhibition, which presents paintings, paper works and sculptures of some of the greatest abstract artists of the 20th century.
The exhibition shows how these artists decided to define themselves and their world in a century marked by two world wars, rapid technological and economic changes around the world, radical social movements, as well as sex, drugs and rock and roll. Freed from the many traditional boundaries of technology, composition, and subject matter, abstract artists could freely explore non-traditional media, concepts, and visual languages. This exhibition explores the sources of inspiration for these artists and the various ways in which they explored their personal style and environment.
