Vakho Bugadze. Three four

Exhibition June 27 − September 10, 2019
Within the framework of the project “Gallery of Modern Art”, the Tbilisi Historical Museum presents the exhibition of Vakho Bugadze “Three four". The author's work is distinguished by the refinement of artistic possibilities and a keen perception of reality. Together with Bugadze, artists Gogi Okropiridze and Catherine Bolt also participate in the project.

“According to the author, black and white photographs, mostly taken by amateur photographers in the 1970s, became the inspiration for the exhibition. Sometimes negative and positive appeared on one photo at a time. The exhibition reflects the search for contemporary art and includes conceptually loaded and extensive works, ”the exhibition organizers say.

Vakho Bugadze was born in Georgia in 1964. He graduated from the Academy of Arts in the class of sculpture. It works in an abstraction format, and if some image appears in his works, then, as a rule, it is either a person or houses that make up a city landscape.
