Coming world

Exhibition May 26 − December 1, 2019
Museum of Contemporary Art "Garage" in the framework of a large-scale project“The coming world: ecology as a new policy, 2030–2100” Presents new installations by Chinese artist Juan Yongping and art duo works from Puerto Rico “Allora and Calzadilla” with the installation “Scream”.

Visitors to the Museum will see the phantom bloom of phantom tabebuya and golden (Tabebuia chrysantha) - a tree characteristic of the Caribbean.

The duo Allora & Calzadilla has created many experimental works, appealing to various artistic media, including performance, sculpture, sound and video art. The unique visual language of Allora & Calzadilla, which reflects the duet's interest in history, material culture and politics, is inextricably linked with a critical and visionary approach to meaning-making. In their work, the authors refer to large-scale changes in the environment, leading to monstrous natural disasters and a rapid reduction in the biodiversity of the planet.
