New month

Exhibition May 28 − June 29, 2019
Gallery VLADEY Center for Contemporary Art Winery presents a personal exhibition Inal Savchenkova "New month".

The exhibition includes selected paintings of the artist from created in the early 1990s to the new ones.

The painting of Inal Savchenkov absorbed current trends of the 1980s - neo-expressionism, comics, graffiti. In the 1990s, the artist often traveled to Berlin and worked in workshops with German neo-expressionist artists. Among like-minded people, his paintings have always been distinguished by a kind of cartoony and good-natured humor. The plots of Savchenkov are difficult to read, they are always “very personal” and pointedly absurd. The artist creates works as if “without thinking,” instantly captured by some memory, news, dream, a fictional parable, a joke, or even a religious-philosophical idea. The deliberate simplicity of execution makes it possible to think out the story - the artist himself sometimes has been writing his paintings for years, developing the plot. In his paintings, as the artist says, he depicts the “perfect” moment from the “film” in his head.
