Angels

Exhibition June 20 − September 22, 2019
The Lviv National Gallery of Arts named after Voznytsky, the art center of Pavel Gudymov, “Ya Gallery” and the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine present a new exhibition project “Angels". These are more than 400 exhibits from museum and private collections, located in 23 exhibition halls of the Palace of Lozinsky and the Pinzel Museum. The works of the most famous artists of the past and the present - from Durer, Rembrandt, Bush, Vrubel, Malchevsky, Klinger, Kulchitskaya, Novakovsky to Chagall, Kabakov, Ravsky, Kostyrko, Silvashi and Yaloza are demonstrated.

For three years, the curator group of Pavel Gudymova found interesting works depicting angels. “From the very beginning, we went beyond the standard museum collection of exhibits, defining the range of visual research of angels from iconography to popular culture. The main array of historically important exhibits were collected in Ukrainian museums, libraries and private collections, shooting of sculptures and paintings in cathedrals. We also paid attention to contemporary art, cinema, comics, fantasy and even everyday artifacts, ”the project curator commented.

“Angels” is a new model of a thematic exhibition about phenomena, which, undoubtedly, will change the perception of the surrounding world.
