Christopher Burkett's brilliant color

Exhibition June 13 − September 15, 2019
Classic Photography Gallery presents an exhibition of one of the most famous and sought-after American photographers. Christopher Burkett's Brilliant Color: New Works.

The exhibition includes more than 130 photoweaves, which differ not only in impressive size (about 100x150 cm), but also in characteristic color contrast. It will be the most complete and large-scale exhibition of the work of the author over the past few years.

In the works of Burkett, technical mastery is closely intertwined with a special vision and reliable transfer of natural colors and shades of nature. The master uses an unusually complex technique of color photo printing, carefully chooses the place and time of the shooting - as a result of his work in color contrasts are more like illustrations for fairy tales than for life. It is no coincidence that Christopher calls his photos superreal, and he understands his mission as follows: “To show what most people do not see.” The author does not use digital technologies in his work, all photos were taken on film, and shown by the author himself. Christopher not only captures the appearance of things, like great painters, he penetrates deep into the mystery of the external appearance of nature and embodies it in works of art that reveal its inner light and living structure. The best photos of the master give a feeling of an almost mystical connection with the viewer - this feeling can be experienced only with direct viewing of the original. Christopher Burkett is one of America’s most popular and best-selling classic photographers who manually produces works that cost as much as 20 or more thousand dollars.
