Jeff Koons and Marcel Duchamp. Nude appearance

Exhibition May 19 − September 29, 2019
The Jumex Museum in Mexico hosts an exhibition of Jeff Koons and Marcel Duchamp "Nude appearance". The exhibition includes more than 80 works from more than 30 collections in Europe and America. At the exhibition, guest curator Massimiliano Jioni draws a parallel between the works of Marcel Duchamp and Jeff Koons, two of the most influential artists of the 20th century.

This project is a reflection between the two artists in order to emphasize their similarities and differences within the framework of the concept previously discussed by Duchamp and known as the "coincidence mode". Although the authors lived in the same century, their work is divided over decades and reveals different philosophies.

Massimiliano Jioni is the curator of the New Museum in New York and director of the Trussardi Foundation in Milan. He has organized many international exhibitions, including the 55th Venice Biennale (2013), the Gwangju Biennale (2010), the Berlin Biennale (2006) and the Manifesto (2004).
