Mikhail Shemyakin. Artist's family

Tver Regional Art Gallery presents an exhibition of one painting “Mikhail Shemyakin. Artist's family "from the cycle “Pages of Restoration”.

Creativity Mikhail Fedorovich Shemyakin (1875 -1944), a remarkable master of Russian impressionism, until recently has been little studied by experts and almost unknown to a wide range of viewers. Meanwhile, his legacy consists of dozens of portraits, subject paintings, still lifes, drawings stored in many Russian museums and private collections in Russia, the Czech Republic and other countries.

In the collection of the Tver Art Gallery, Shemyakin's creativity is represented by the painting “The Artist's Family”, written in 1909. The painting depicts the artist’s wife and sons Fedor and Mikhail.

The work was submitted to the gallery collection with numerous damages and traces of coarse house-house restoration.

After the completion of the complete restoration work, the painting by M.F. Shemyakin exhibited for the first time.
