Grigory Gavrilenko. Vita nova

Auction house "Ducat" is a personal exhibition of the artist of the sixties Gregory Gavrilenko "Vita Nova". In 1965, Nikolai Bazhan invited the author to illustrate the collection of works by Dante Alighieri “Vita Nova. New life". This work became symbolic both for the artist himself and for the national artistic culture, showed the intentions of the author’s ideas and presented a new aesthetics, a new life of Ukrainian art.

Grigory Gavrilenko (1927-1984). Born in the Sumy region. He studied at the art school named after T. Shevchenko. He graduated from the Kiev State Art Institute. Participated in republican and all-Union exhibitions. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1960. He worked in the field of easel and book graphics. Works are kept in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, the National Museum "Kiev Art Gallery", the Art Museum. J. Vurhisa Zimmerly (New Jersey) and other museum and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
