Carver Ivan Khrustachev

The Central Museum of Old Russian Culture and Art named after Andrei Rublev holds an exhibition "Carver Ivan Khrustachev".

Visitors will be able to see icons and tricuspid foldings, performed by the miniaturist master from I.S. Sergiev Posad. Khrustachev (1841 / 42–1914) and his students who worked in the late XIX - first quarter of the twentieth century, as well as unique products created by order or exhibited at art and industry exhibitions in Russia and abroad and marked with gold medals. Among the exhibits, the unique Gospel in wooden carved cover of 1908 and the altar cross on a stand of 1880, decorated with such small images of holy and gospel scenes that it is difficult to see them with the naked eye, stand out in particular.

At one time the works of I.S. Khrustachev was highly valued; at the beginning of the twentieth century, “The Highest Commandment”, he received personal nobility for his works.
