Nicholas Brewer: Eternal Beauty

Born in Olmsted County, Minnesota, Nicholas R. Brewer (1857–1949) achieved success and became one of the most famous portrait painters and landscape painters in Minnesota.
Having received only scant formal training, Brewer quickly gained recognition in Minnesota, New York and Chicago. A personal friend of James Hill, Brewer often led students to Hill’s house on Summit Avenue to see his art collection. The artist's later career led him across the country, from California to Florida, where he demonstrated his works and lectured to a grateful public.
