Carrie Ann Baade's paintings link historical masterpieces with contemporary art. In her works, the artist “dismembers” images from antiquity to the modern era, and uses these parts as the basis for creating surrealistic landscapes inhabited by otherworldly figures, electric flora and fauna.
Exhibition "
Angels and carnivorous flowers"establishes a dialogue with the past, introducing a modern voice and reinterpreting historical fragments, using the artist's original feminist and autobiographical perspective.
