Paul Calle: from the mountains to the moon

Exhibition of Western artist Paul Kalle "From the mountains to the moon»Presented in the framework of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the first step of Neil Armstrong to the Moon.

This retrospective exhibition traces the career of Kalle, who became famous for painting and drawing the historic American West with the participation of mountain men, fur traders and Native Americans, as well as works of art by NASA and postage stamps. On that day, July 16, 1969, Paul Calle, the official artist at NASA, was the only artist who attended the pre-launch activities of the Apollo 11 mission to the moon, sketching various scenes, including astronauts' breakfast, dressing and walking.

The exhibition also presents works of art that Kalle performed, working as an illustrator and schedule for sports, medical and children's magazines, as well as his paintings and sketches of many famous people.
