Katherine Bernhardt. Big In Japan!

NANZUKA Gallery in Tokyo presents an exhibition of works by American artist Catherine BernhardtBig In Japan!". The exhibition consists of new large works of the author, depicting a variety of everyday objects, which were isolated from their original context. The canvases painted in bright colors are evidence of her inner passions and personal obsessions. Works performed with aerosol and acrylic paint are distinguished by formal comparisons and diverse content.

Catherine Bernhardt was born in 1975 in Clayton. She received a bachelor of arts degree from the School of the Art Institute in Chicago and then moved to New York where she received an MFA degree from the School of Visuals. The artist experimented with various materials, including woven Moroccan carpets and installations. Her work has been on display at the Fort Worth Museum of Contemporary Art and at the St. Louis Museum of Contemporary Art. Bernhardt currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
