Judith Linhares. Hearts on fire

P • P • O • W Gallery is pleased to present “Hearts on fire, Solo exhibition by Judith Linhares. The artist has had a fruitful career of almost four decades, and now Lynhares receives due recognition for her long-lasting influence on the feminist image and its recent revival.
"Hearts in Fire" describes a special fantastic universe in which people are removed from the picturesque landscape. Linhares with her distinctly juicy, almost edible flowers depicts mythological women communicating with nature, as well as colorful portraits of farm animals and flower still lifes.
Starting each job with exploring the paint itself, Linhares uses abstract color fields to gradually pull out his objects. Inspired by the psychedelic atmosphere of the 1960s, the artist continues to explore the relationship between the conscious and the unconscious - her dreams often provide her work with their mythical stories, characters and kaleidoscopic compositions that pulsate with color.
