Viktor belongs to the generation of artists of the sixties and seventies, whose work was formed in the era of the Khrushchev thaw. His works are a direct continuation of the classical traditions of Russian painting.

Tranquil everyday scenes, landscapes and still lifes of the master are impressed with impressionism and are very harmonious. The artist is often called a lyric poet who gives poetry to the whole world around him, and he sees the most uncomplicated plots with eyes in love.

Viktor Aleksandrovich Skalkin from the 1960s to the present day has been an active participant in city, republican, all-union and international art exhibitions.

The works of the author are in the Russian Museum, the Tretyakov Gallery, in other museum and private collections in Italy, France, Switzerland, Canada, Japan and other countries.
