The State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg, one of the largest museums in the city with more than a century of history, represents anniversary exhibitiondedicated to the history of the creation in 1918 of the Museum of the City in the Anichkov Palace, and reflecting the history of St. Petersburg from its inception to the present day.

The exhibition, which brings together about 300 exhibits, shows the museum collection in all its richness and diversity. Visitors to the museum will be able to see the most valuable and interesting items in the collection - paintings, graphics, decorative and applied arts, documents, photographs, postcards, costumes, household items of the 18th - early 21st centuries.

At the exhibition you can see many views of the city on the Neva in different years: picturesque, graphic, photographic. In addition to works of art related to the theme of St. Petersburg, at the exhibition you can see views of Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, as well as Athens, Rome, London.
Also among the exhibits is a collection of portrait painting from tsarist to Soviet times.

Furniture, porcelain and glassware, costumes, fans, musical instruments, memorabilia from the 18th-20th centuries provide insight into the daily life of St. Petersburg-Leningraders over three centuries. In the collection of the museum a large number of memorial items.

The museum has one of the largest collections of objects, documents, photographs, weapons related to the history of Leningrad during the Great Patriotic War and the blockade, especially valuable and memorable of which can also be seen at the anniversary exhibition.
