"Geltzer. Collection"
Exhibition March 3 − April 27, 2017
Metropolitan gallery "Our artists" has presented to Muscovites the next exclusive art project "Geltzer. Collection". From various museums and private collections were collected works from the impressive collection of the legendary prima ballerina of the Bolshoi theatre Ekaterina Vasilievna Geltser (1876-1962). Personally knowing artists and their heirs, it was an outstanding collection, "a branch of the Tretyakov gallery".
The extreme dispersion of pieces of the collection and an unfortunate limitation of information do not allow today to present Assembly geltzer in its entirety. Nevertheless, curators of the exhibition managed to unite the exhibition of around 40 first-class artists of the second half of XIX - early XX century, and in the catalog — it can play about 80 works from the collection of the Bolshoi Theater.
