Roman Garbuz

The museum of the Lviv National Academy of Arts (LNAM) hosts a retrospective exhibition of small plastics in wood Romana Garbuza. The author works in the field of easel and monumental sculpture, graphics - with various sculptural materials (wood, limestone, granite, polystyrene). High compositional culture allows him to convey the symbolism or drama of the image. In the artist’s worldview, reminiscences from Ukrainian history and modern spiritual and moral conflicts have intertwined.

Roman Garbuz was born in 1949 in the Ternopil region. He graduated from the Lviv Institute of Applied and Decorative Art, worked as an artist-designer of a plant design bureau, as an artist-restorer in research and restoration workshops, as an employee of the research sector, and taught at the drawing department of the Lviv Polytechnic Institute. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1993.
