Spanish painter and art theorist; Italian in origin. Along with Bartolomeo Carducho, your brother and teacher, arrived in 1585 to Spain. Court painter (1609). Creativity K., the transition from the late Renaissance to the Baroque, marked by cold theatricality and eclecticism (a cycle of paintings on subjects from the history of the Carthusian order, 1626-1632, some of the paintings in the Prado, Madrid). More valuable theoretical legacy of K. an important source for the aesthetics of mannerism.
