Ilya
Maksimovich Shulga

Russia • 1878−1938

Born in the village of kropyvna, Cherkasy region. He studied at the Kiev art school N. Murashko, in 1904 – 1909, in St. Petersburg Academy of arts (I. Repin). In 1909 he received the title of artist for the painting "the Cossacks have gone." Member of AHCU. From 1934 he taught at KHI. Lived and worked in St. Petersburg since 1928 – in Kiev. In 1938, he was arrested.
