Vasilievich Rozhdestvensky

Painter, graphic artist, theater. artist. He graduated from the Moscow school of painting (1910), a pupil of A. Arkhipov, K. Korovin, V. Serov. He lived in Moscow. In 1910-17 founding member of the UW "Jack of diamonds", a member of the tions "World of art" (1911-22), "Moscow painters" (1925), AHRR (1926), the hen (1927-29), and others. Fine in color landscapes, still lifes, genre scenes – "still life with Cup and coffee pot" (1913), "Spring" (1918), "still life with red jar" (1918), "Asian tea" (1926), "Farmer-fisherman. Belomore" (1938), etc.

He started drawing still in the Tula religious school, V. V. Rozhdestvensky studied then MUZHVZ (1900-11). Here in these years was taught by V. A. Serov, K. A. Korovin, A. Arkhipov, but the youth in the turbulent time breaking artistic traditions sought new ways. Together with their peers Christmas organizes the Association of painters of "knave of diamonds", together with them developing a new, more active pictorial language. Meanwhile, these quests have become a kind of decorative Christmas hue inherent in the warehouse of his talent. Close with a powerful volume of painting most of the "bubnovaya" his work seems to be somewhat crushed, nervously-moving, full of edgy contrasts of open, vivid colors, which give his canvases a kind of iron character. That he subsequently wrote is typical of his generation still lifes or custom themed paintings ("Red guerrillas in Dagestan", 1927), dry industrial landscapes and factory interiors of the 1930s, landscapes of the Russian North ("White night. Village", 1930) or the exotic life in Central Asia (the"Asian tea", 1926), is still rhythmic in-plane motion of contrast and strong color spots pervades the composition, of the experience of painting.
