Since 1923, the participant of exhibitions. Member of the Association of OST (1929-1931), "izobrigada" (1931-1932). Executed murals for the agricultural exhibition, the world exhibition in new York (1939). Worked in theatres of Moscow. The author of the book "Future artist about the art of painting."

1919-1924 Training in 2-x State free Art studios of I. I. Mashkov, then in 1-x State free workshops from A. V. Shevchenko, on the basis of which was founded VKHUTEMAS and in the workshop of D. P. Shterenberg. Thesis in VKhUTEMAS from A. V. Shevchenko.

1925-1927 Work in journals and publishing houses, book illustrations and posters. Participation in the 1st art exhibition of the society of easel artists (OST).

1929-1933 Participation in exhibitions of VOKS (all-Union society for cultural relations with foreign countries). Work has been exhibited in Amsterdam, new York, Boston, Stockholm, Berlin, Vienna, Zurich, Venice, Madrid, Paris, London and other cities of Europe and America

1932-1940 joining the MOSH. Creative trip to Odessa, Lugansk, Magnitogorsk, Minsk, Dagestan, Moldova.

1936 the First personal exhibition (Moscow).

1944 Solo exhibition after a trip to the front (Moscow).

1946-1952 Teaching at the Moscow Institute of applied and decorative arts (MIPIDI).

1947 Solo exhibition "Sevastopol 1946" (Moscow).

1953-1971 Teaching at the Moscow textile Institute.

1957-1958 Chairman of the artistic Council of monumental painting at CDOI (Combine decorative design and decorative arts).

1967 was Elected Chairman of the Board of the Art Fund of the USSR.

1970 Solo exhibition (Moscow).

1974 Awarded the title of Honoured artist of the Russian Federation for achievements in the field of fine arts.
