Education received from recognized masters of art such as K.A. Korovin, A.E. Arkhipov and V.A. Serov, honed the artist’s skill, and interest in the work of the Impressionists allowed to bring fresh and original notes to his style. The talent of the painter became the driving force that raised Gerasimov to the highest steps of the career ladder. Most of the paintings by Alexander Gerasimov are portraits of famous Soviet leaders: Lenin, Stalin, Voroshilov, as well as plot paintings with them, introducing the current generation to the realities of that era. The artist also willingly painted portraits of representatives of the creative intelligentsia.

The master did not forget about the beauty of wildlife. His landscapes are filled with lyrical feelings that embrace each person when looking at their native expanses.
