After graduating from the Academy of fine arts received the title of artist of painting.

Painter, honored. art worker of the RSFSR (1959). Graduated from. The vkhutein (1922), disciple N.Dubovsky. From 1923 he lived in Moscow. Since 1923, a member of AHRR. From 1949 he taught at the MIPIDI, 1950 Professor. Developed traditions of landscape painting of the Wanderers. Landscapes (including "In the woods", 1918; "On the Volga", 1932; "Cloud hosted", 1934; "Rus", 1943; "Springtime", 1940; "the Ural landscape", 1949; "Misty morning", 1954; ""the Bright may", 1963), themed paintings (including "Leaving on a collective farm North", 1931; "the Soldiers on the labor front", 1928).
