Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky visited America in 1892. Just at the same time, the continent celebrated its chetyrehsotletney from the date of opening. Album artist added twenty-three drawings, executed from nature, many of which were a reversal of the sheet. On some pages, he left a special mark, which for the most part refers to the color, shades and tonal relations found at the site.
On arrival at Theodosia, in his Studio the artist has handled American-made sketches. For many of them he "walked" pen and ink, and wrote a powerful water mass, the low sky and the spray of the raging waterfall. All this is an amazing sight complemented by a barely noticeable rosy glow. Despite the fact that the artist had some great photos taken during the trip, most of the work on the Aivazovsky's painting "Niagara falls" was done from life.
The work was written in the late period of creativity of the great Maestro, when he was already in old age. Nevertheless, it was a very productive time, as evidenced by Aivazovsky painting "Niagara falls". Picturesque scenery from the first seconds captures the attention and encourages its freshness.
