Bildbeschreibung «P.M.»
This abstract is dedicated to Dutch artist Piet Mondrian, specifically his early period painting "Tree grid".
Piet Mondrian, along with other artists, laid the foundation for abstract painting.
The first works were painted in the tradition of the Dutch school. Mondrian's favorite motifs were landscapes with branching trees. The artist was mesmerized by the graceful lines of branches. He experimented a lot, gradually simplifying the composition.
Acquaintance with the Cubists had a significant influence on the artist .
Piet Mondrian soon abandoned the slightest hints of plot, atmosphere, modeling and spatial depth, and gradually consciously limited expressive means.
The aesthetic theory that underpinned this trend was called Neoplasticism.
After Mondrian used only straight rigid contours, creating asymmetrical compositions, achieving a dynamic balance.
The artist's goal was to achieve "purity of plastic reality".
